Tip #4: SET-UP TO IMPROVE YOUR DRIVING

Having a set-up that is fundamentally not sound could be one of the reasons why you are missing the fairways. Setting up to the ball differently each time you play is doing you more harm than good. Get a fundamentally sound set up and STAY WITH IT! Here are a few things that can help.

A. Use a grip that you feel comfortable with. One of the worst feelings is when you know your grip is wrong or uncomfortable. Notice how my hands mirror each other. This is comfortable for me and I would say for most good players as well.

B. Ball position when driving should be anywhere from the inside of left foot to your toe (remember you are trying to hit slightly up into the ball when driving).

C. Shoulders, hips and knees should all be inline with each other. No side bending with the spine or tilting with the hips.

D. I like to see good balance and posture. Slight bend in the knees and tilt towards the ball from the hips and extend your arms. Get into a ready position.

E. Hands behind the ball and head behind the hands.

There are many ways to set up to the ball when driving or hitting iron shots. The few tips I gave here should help everyone to improve their
golf shots. Good luck!

Tip #5: Hitting irons from the rough
